Challenges in film

The biggest obstacle my group and I faced when shooting our opening scenes was displaying a dark setting since we were only able to shoot during the day. Thankfully, we were able to adjust the amount of lighting that was in the household (the location of our film opening) by closing the shudders on the windows which helps out block most of the sunshine that could get through the window. Even with shudders, there were cracks and crevices that light squeezed through and lit up enough to have to cover those spaces with pillows and a t-shirt. Another unexpected hurdle we came across was having to take the film serious as we'd sometimes joke around (and laugh a bunch) causing multiple retakes to get the perfect scene. Was this mostly my fault? Maybe...
